Wow, I am on a roll. I think this is the second review I have done this month. Must be the Nasutra! Either that or it is just that it has been raining so freaking much that I can’t get outside and tend my crops. Digging through the latest stuff that has come my way, I happened upon a package called “Tattoo in a Can”. It was sent to me by California Creations; apparently they distribute this stuff out of … California. After all the bad decisions I have made in my life, I have ended up with some pretty bad tattoos and I sure wish I could get rid of some of them. The thought of trying out a temporary tattoo to change things up sounded pretty appealing. In fact I could probably put one of these overtop one of my old tats.
So what do you get with this kit? When I opened it up, I found a ¾ oz aerosol can of base paint, two tubs of shimmer, one tub of setting powder, 10 stencils, and two application brushes. The instructions were on the back of the color insert and they read pretty straight forward.
I cleaned up an area on my arm with some rubbing alcohol and a cotton pad and made sure it was nice and dry. I then broke out a fitting stencil and removed the protective barrier from the back so that it would stick nicely to my skin. After I smoothed it out (it is critical to make sure it lies smooth other wise you’ll get paint bleed outside the stencil) I hit it with a few puffs of the aerosol tattoo ink. The tattoo ink came out nice and dark. After waiting for it to dry (I gave it a minute), I hit it with some purple and pearl shimmer. It was starting to look pretty good at this point. When I was happy with it, I hit it with a dusting of the setting powder (no matter how much this stuff looks like coke, it isn’t – don’t sniff it – it will give you a nasty headache and burn the hell out of your nostrils). I then carefully unpeeled the stencil and put it away. A quick brush off of the extra setting powder and the tattoo was complete.
It didn’t look too bad for a first try considering I was a little cold and had goose bumps. I probably would have shaved the area as well for future tattoos so I could avoid painting any hairs. Clean-up was really easy as the stencil has a plastic blast shield around it that helps reduce overspray problems from finding their way onto your clothing or furniture. As far as it lasting, It sill looked halfway decent after about a week of wear. Key thing is not to agitate or scrub it too much when bathing. Also avoid letting anything with alcohol in it from contacting the tattoo as this will very quickly remove the tattoo.
So it isn’t a sex toy, but it could be used to add a little fantasy to your sex life. You could get real creative with it. Make your own stencil and apply it to your favorite area. Let a message unfurl as you harden up. The sky is the limit with the fun you could have with this stuff. Get a buddy drunk and nail him with a design that you know will get him going. From what I can see it comes in two different varieties – one is Whimsical – the one I received and there is another out there called Street that has more tribal style designs. Now all I have to do is break out my X-Acto knife and carve out a SiliconSlave stencil so I can be the site’s number one fan-boy. Later dudes and dudettes. |
