When people think about adult films, nine times out of ten they think about the low quality gonzo style films found in a sleazy sex shop. Digital Playground is setting out on a voyage to bring Hollywood style presentation to the adult genre. Past attempts to do this included films like Loaded and Island Fever 3. Digital Playground finally pulled out all stops and combined with Adam & Eve pictures to produce Pirates. So what brings Pirates close to being a feature film? How about top notch wardrobe, detailed sets (including real tall-ship footage), computer graphics (CG) and animation, a plot worthy of a b-grade movie, excellent cinematography, and of course top adult talent.

Jesse Jane, Carmen Luvana, Janine, Teagan Presley, Devon, Austyn Moore, and Jenaveve Jolie are the vixens in this swashbuckling tale. Tommy Gunn, Evan Stone, Steven St. Croix, Scott Nails, and Kris Slater provide the testosterone. Evan Stone and Tommy Gunn are quite the characters and provide some of the best acting in this film. Evan Stone is the hilarious pirate hunter and Tommy Gunn is the dastardly pirate captain. If you saw Evan Stone in Beat the Devil, you know that he can act and of course put on a good sexual performance. Tommy Gunn also looks every part the pirate with his hat sword and tied beard. As far as the girls go, Janine, Carmen Luvana, and Jesse Jane see the bulk of the action. With her array of tattoos and sharp looks, Janine fits the role of a hardened pirate very well. Combine Janine and Carmen with Jesse Jane and there was some serious sexual energy in their scenes.

So what do you get when your purchase this set? You get 3 discs packed with content. Two of the discs are the actual film with one in standard DVD format and the other in WMV-HD format. The picture quality on the WMV-HD disc is very similar to that of Island Fever 3 (which was stunning). Combine the WMV-HD with a decent computer and a nice flat-panel or HD Projector and you’ll really enjoy Digital Playground’s extra effort. The third disc contains extras like bloopers and a bonus sex scene. Oh yeah did I mention that there are 10 sex scenes on this feature. Make sure you watch it through to the conclusion to see Jesse Jane and Janie get it on. There is some real fire here (you’ll have to see it to get what I mean). I guarantee you have never enjoyed one of the things that they do to each other.

For fans of Carmen Luvana and Devon, you’ll enjoy a special treat. Devon gets her world rocked by the talented Evan Stone. There is a nice lengthy scene where she takes it multiple ways and looks good throughout. Carmen Luvana enjoys at least three scenes with a hot film-starter with her new husband and two girl-on-girl scenes with Jesse Jane and Jenaveve Jolie. Also making a hot appearance was Austyn Moore as a slightly crazy pirate hunter groupie who heats up the screen with Evan stone.

Overall there is a lot in this set. It is definitely a major effort that only two studios like Digital Playground and Adam & Eve could have pulled off. Great talent, excellent cinematography, top notch wardrobe and amazing sets. About the only thing I would have improved on this film was the CG. It was okay, but definitely not up to par with some of the content that you’ll find in Hollywood. Much of the CG could have been avoided if the ships were actually shot at sea and in motion. This is definitely one film that I am going to keep in my collection and break-out at sex parties. It is one of the few adult films that I have been tempted to watch from beginning to end in one sitting.
