It looks like it is time to expand my dungeon. The latest sex toy to come my way for review, the Liberator Esse™ Black Label Edition falls into the sex furniture category. You can think of the Liberator Esse Black Label Edition as a sex chase with plenty of restraint options. It comes with plenty of attachment points as well as cuffs to secure your thighs, ankles, and wrists. It also comes with some extenders and tethers to give you a little more freedom of movement. A nice addition to this package is the blindfold (one of the better ones I have used – complete blackout) and a mini-scoop sex shape that allows the user to fill in the valley or add an extra contour.
It is one large unit, so don’t think you are going to be able to slide this one under your bed. You might be able to stow it in your closet, but you better have a large walk in closet. For most people, I think it will just become a piece of furniture in the bedroom that goes where a traditional trunk or bed bench may go. A friend of mine simply puts it in her seating area in the bedroom.
The texture of the Esse Black Label Edition is like that of black velvet. It is nice and soft, yet provides decent grip when other Liberator shapes are set on it. I like that the shells come off and I can throw them in the washing machine for a quick clean-up. If I want to lose the restraints, I can take off the outer shell and there is a smooth nylon shell underneath. Unlike the other Black Label Edition shapes, the Esse does not come with a carrying bag. My guess is because it is simply too big to be considered a mobile sex toy.
So how does it work? I had one particularly cute sub that I was really looking to give a fresh new experience to and playing with the Esse certainly qualified. After ordering her to strip, I blindfolded her and strapped her into the Esse. There were plenty of attachment points, so I didn’t have any problems positioning her for total domination. I took full advantage of the curves and had her back exposed with her wrists, ankles and thighs cuffed and locked down. Then it was time to break out the wax. The combination of the blindfold, bondage, and wax drove her wild. The Esse Black Label Edition was tough enough to take all her squirming and did a good job of handling her body fluids.
Once I was done with my initial session, it was evident that a clean-up was necessary as my sub had left her impression on the shell. I unzipped it and threw it in the wash. It came out nice and clean and even softer then when I unpacked it. I checked the stitching and restraint points afterwards to make sure that the wash didn’t damage them or reveal a product deficiency and everything was still secure with no loose threads. I didn’t notice any fading of the shell.
Easy clean-up, quality construction, many attachment points, lots of accessories and a position guide make this a well thought out sex toy that is worth every penny. The Esse Black Label Edition is definitely one sex toy that I could see in my bedroom or dungeon. For those that aren’t into bondage, there is also a less expensive Esse that doesn’t come with the restraint gear or blindfold. However why not go for the Black Label Edition and give yourself some options. You can always place the bondage gear in a drawer and bring it out on special occasions when you want to try something different.
