So what do you get when you cross a flashlight with a sex toy for guys? You get the Fleshlight® and it is the newest addition to Dr. Phreakenstein’s pleasure lab. Let’s take a section to dissect this toy to see what it is all about. In the package you’ll find four pieces and some lubricant. The first and most interesting piece is the insert, which has a front shaped like a vagina and a body shaped like some funky ribbed extrusion. The insert is made out of a compound called Real Feel Super Skin® that is designed to give the feel of a real vagina. The other three pieces are the Fleshlight container, bottom cap, and top cap. My Fleshlight also shipped with a plastic support tube in the middle that should be removed before use.
I like the concept, small enough to hold in your hand and a nice tight tube to get my phreaky friction on. So I lube it up and gave it test-drive (or 2 or 3 or 4…). Sure enough this was one tight tool. The sensation was very close to the real thing without having to splurge on dinner and a movie and all that foreplay stuff. Using lubricant is really mandatory with the Fleshlight as it will tend to get sticky without it and do a little too much gripping.
I found that I could use the toy in a couple of ways. The first is to clamp it with something so that it is fixed in place and then stroke it like during regular intercourse. I found that clamping it to the lab bench worked quite well, but you could use your hands to hold it in place just as easily. The second way to use it is to just stroke the Fleshlight similar to if you were doing the five knuckle shuffle. I found that with the bottom-cap in place the unit would create a bit of suction during the in-out movement with a side effect of creating a farting sound. The bottom-cap can be removed and this mostly eliminated the sound, but decreased the suction effect. I found by placing my hand over the open bottom, I could vary the suction level and this was my favorite mode. This toy is small and light enough that it is well-suited for those that feel the need for speed.
When I had a little more time on my hands, I tried heating and cooling the toy. This can be done by running some warm water into a container big enough to hold the insert. Once I warmed the water to the right temperature, I placed the insert in the container and let it heat up. About five minutes later, out came a nice warm moist insert. At this point I was getting pretty excited, nothing like hot and wet sex. A little lubricant and I was away to the races. The Fleshlight feels really good when it is heated up and is definitely my preferred method of operation. I also tried the Fleshlight cold after putting it in an ice-bath, but this just didn’t do it for me and might be more suited for the closet necrophiliacs out there.
Clean-up of the unit is fairly simple. I took the insert out of the case and rinsed it with warm water and then spritzed it with sex toy cleaner. I gave the sex toy cleaner about 30 seconds to kill off any bacteria and then hung it up to dry. Once the unit is dry, I did notice that it becomes quite sticky, so you may want to use a dry talc powder or such to keep it from collecting lint and hairs and replace the caps to keep it sealed up.
So did the Fleshlight make the cut for permanent inclusion in my sex toy lab? Yes it did; it is a great masturbation device and has a very unique feel. I would also like to get some of the other inserts so that I can vary my exercise routine. There is an anal insert, tighter inserts, and special lined inserts – all designed to give different sensations. Fleshlight inserts also come in different colors as do the cases so there should be something to match your aesthetic needs. Since I like a little variety, this sex toy along with a few different inserts should be able to assist me in several of my stroking fantasies. |
