Many Doms love to play with candle wax and for me it is a personal favorite. The light of the fire, the sizzle on the skin, and the moans of pain mixed with pleasure, what’s not to love? Doc Johnson has improved upon the great art of wax play with their Japanese Drip Candles. You get three six inch candles in great colors; red, black, and purple that allow you to turn the body of your slave into a canvas. The colors lighten on the skin and mix nicely when layered. The candles on their own are delicious looking in their bright colors and create their own special kind of ambience. For those of you that are new to wax, these candles make a great starting point. The wax doesn’t burn as hot as some and the color doesn’t stain the skin. The wax also removes easily from non hairy skin with a little light scraping of the fingernail.
I like to do a little prep work to ensure the evening runs smoothly. I like to put down an old sheet or a drop cloth for easier clean up. I also like to keep a small first-aid kit and a fire extinguisher nearby. The kit should contain aloe vera, commercial burn treatment, and antibiotic cream just in case. Wax can be difficult to remove from hair so shave or at least trim him or her first. Keep in mind that this makes the skin more sensitive than usual. If hair removal isn’t an option try to keep the area covered with an old towel. Wax can be very difficult to control and splatters are unavoidable.
For a new sub I like to start in a less sensitive area such as the upper back, with the candle further from the skin (at least eighteen inches) so that the wax has a little time to cool before hitting the skin. I slowly decrease the distance between the candle and the skin as the subs tolerance level increases. To stir things up a bit, try alternating between wax and cold water or ice. Be aware of possible pooling of wax as this may retain heat and cause burns. Watching your slaves’ reaction is as pleasing as it is imperative, the goal is pleasure through pain not scarring. Always keep the wax below the shoulders and away from open sores or piercings that haven’t fully healed. As always use common sense when playing with fire and enjoy creating your own masterpiece with your favorite bottom as the backdrop.
