Ah, lube. Everyone needs to have this stuff on hand. You just never know when a little action is going to come your way, and nothing ruins good sex quicker than a lube shortage when your partner is as dry as the freakin’ Sahara. A lot of my wrestling buddies use ID Glide™ Personal Lubricant by Westridge Laboratories, Inc, so I thought I would check it out and let you, our loyal SiliconSlave fans, know whether it’s worth your money or not. My wrestling friends are not always the brightest bunch, so I like to check things out for myself to bring you a solid recommendation.

ID Glide is a water-based lube, which is important if you have allergies to the ingredients other lubricants might contain. There are pros and cons to water-based lubes. The positives are that they are good for people with allergies, they tend not to react with the materials in adult sex toys, and water-based lubes clean up easily. On the downside, I find with these types of lubes the water tends to evaporate relatively quickly. Instead of a consistent, steady slip ‘n’ slide you get lubrication that steadily declines at a seemingly linear rate. You can reactivate the lubricant by adding either more product or some drops of water, however.

Back to ID Glide. This product I reviewed (4.1 oz size) is packaged in a clear tube that transitions to blue coloring to show off the fact that the lube itself is also clear. Other packaging sizes include a pump option. You can use ID Glide safely with latex condoms and adult sex toys such as the Fleshlight. There is no petroleum or petroleum-based ingredients in this product. ID Glide is American made and comes in a dizzying array of sizes: 1.1 oz, 2 oz, 2.8 oz, 4.1 oz, 5.5 oz, 9.5 oz, 17.6 oz, 35.3 oz, 70 oz, and for those of you with a rock star-sized libido, 134 oz. Luckily for you, it’s apparent Westridge Laboratories does not believe one size fits all!

In my experiences in using ID Glide, I found it did the job quite well, although I did have to make several re-applications during the course of a particularly long session of marathon sex. Under more routine sex conditions it performed admirably. For thoroughness I also tried it with a Fleshlight, with OK results. ID Glide has a taste that is neither pleasant nor unpleasant. I did not perceive any significant aftertaste. In general Rocketman doesn’t recommend you eat a lot of lube, but if you do manage to ingest some during oral sex at least with ID Glide you can be assured that there is no harsh taste to spoil the mood.

ID Glide is a dependable product, although not necessarily the best you can buy. It presents fair value and functions acceptably as advertised. I expect you will have a good overall experience with this product.
